I love being around people, most of the time, hanging out, having fun, making people laugh (generally, not while making a fool of myself, but hey, if the shoe fits!), most of all, getting in deeper to God's word as He reveals the layers of me that I never knew were there. | And... it begins again. Tests. Over and over again. People have been asking for an update so here it is! Bloodwork... MRI... Next: Spinal tap and PETscan. They have found more spots in my brain that are "cause for concern" but "not likely cancer or tumors". Yes, not one or two, but four to six! I'm not sure what to do or how to react anymore, it just is what it is. Things are getting more painful as the days go by. I have arthritis in both of my knees and elbows and on a miriade of painkillers. They do believe that all of the above was brought on as a result of the Lyme's Disease last year. However, I'm still getting up each day and enjoying my work at the tea shoppe :) I love doing what I'm doing and things are only slowing me down for a brief moment! I'll keep you up to speed as to the results of the coming up test, but please, once again, keep my health in your thoughts and prayers! You guys are the best support I could ever hope or dream of! THANK YOU!!!
| Alright, so alot of people know where I'm coming from, but few honestly do. Here's the skinny on what's up in the world of Cat... First off, I have decided to attend Culinary School this next year. Yep, I'm going back and finishing it off :) I have been hired as a Sous Chef at a restraunt downtown (www.georgewatts.com) and have been encouraged countless times to finish what I started. Doors are opening up marvelously in this field. Internships at Disney and in Chicago and New York, a raise, scholorships, competition oppertunities ;) And for those who know me, I love to cook, there's no way I can happily hang up my Coat right now... What does this mean? Well, I'm not going to FMMC next year, or back to Copenhagen. I'll be working full time, school full time online, and labs at a school downtown. Also, I"ll be doing more of the "stand there and look pretty" thing aka modeling :) I'll be doing a great deal of selling artwork and experementing with different photo and live modeling techniques. I will make sure to keep you up to speed on that. Beyond that, I'm having the time of my life. I am working my tail off right now working both full time and SUmmerfest (www.summerfest.com). So far this year I"ve seen Phil Vassor, Goo Goo Dolls, Sum 41, Flyleaf, Skillet, Lifehouse, Sara Evans, Big & Rich... Upcoming is John Mayer, Bon Jovi, Dashboard Confessional, and much much more! Bristol Ren Faire opens Saturday and Waukesha KC Dog Show is in three weeks. I have a jam packed schedule, but man, do I love it! I can't wait to start school in the fall and from there, we'll see what happens! Doing a cooking Demo next week, I'll be sure to get a video and/or pictures up! Caoi! | | |

| So the lesson that I've learned lately is that despite the cards that life has handed you, you can't change them. What you can do, however, is change your attitude and control the way you react.
But I will admit that there are times when I wish I had an umbrella because my world is seemingly crashing in around me. For with great promise comes a great price. I've had some amazing doors opened and paths paved. Awesome things happen in the lives of those around me. I've had alot of things happen that I would much rather trade.
But I know someone who drunk a Cup that caused him to sweat blood and pay the greatest price for us all, but with it came the sweetest promise. I just pray that that same person allows me to bleed for Him in this time. I am suffering for His cause, not my own. Lord, grant me strength and serenity!
| Kyrie leads me down the road I must follow Kyrie leads me through the darkness of the night Kyrie leads where I go and where you follow Kyrie leads me down the highway in the Light
Kyrie... one of the African name for The Lord
... leads me through the darkness of the night.
How did we get here? Was it on our own two feet, or was there an extra set of footprints beside us? At the times were it seemed He wasn't there, and there was only one set... was He carrying you? Or were you simply walking alone?
Lately, I was actually challenged by the verse in Revelations 3:15-16 "I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. (16) So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth."
Lukewarm. God asks us to be one or the other. Most preachers don't do their research, I was no exception on this one, and say that we need to be on fire or cold to the Spirit, and while it goes along those lines, it dates back to the first century. THere were three towns including the one to which this message was written to, Laodicea. Six miles north, there was a city called Hierapolis where it was known for its tavertine cliffs that were formed by hot mineral springs. Awesome for bathing ;) And eleven miles east of that was Colosse known for it's refreshingly cold waters. Pure and impecable drinking water. Good for Kool-aid :) But Laodicea (if you've done the math, it sits near in the middle of the two cities) recieved its water from an aquaduct built by the Romans. The water coming from a spring to the south, five miles, and had a high mineral content, and upon arrival was lukewarm.
So this letter doesn't refer to the city's believers lack of zeal, or half-hearted commitment, but rather their stagnant soul and ineffective spirit. "Even as Jesus would spit out lukewarm water, he promises to spit out such Christians." (Zondervan's Illustrated Bible Background Commentary)
So, where does your water come from? Are you going to go to the source, or will you wait until it comes to you?
